Happy Holidays Bismarck/Mandan,
Holiday Lights 4 U was started back in 2008 by myself in an effort to bring the newest and brightest technological light show into the Bismarck Mandan community. Each and every year my show continues to grow bigger and better. I strive to change a majority of the elements of the show each year to provide the most enjoyable viewing experience.
As some may or may not know, the vast majority of the elements are homemade. This enables me to create the most diverse show. This year alone, leading up to the kickoff of the 2016 season, took over 300 hours of work. Around 70 hours were put into setup, 60 hours into synchronizing every 0.05 seconds of the 12 minute show, and the remaining hours went into building the new props for this year.
Every year I strive to put on the best show I can possible. In recent years, this has been complicated as I am a 23-year-old Mechanical Engineering student at North Dakota State University. This means that I have to run the light show from 200 miles away and return home on weekends to setup and take down. Even with this extra hurdle, the light show brings me great joy. I find enjoyment in watching so many individuals light up with Christmas spirit when viewing my light show. This spirit is a powerful thing that seems to return everyone back to their childhood and they cannot help but sing along. Listening to young children yell and wave hello to Santa makes every hour of work worth it.
I hope you and your family have a joyful holiday season and I am glad that I can have a small impact in it.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
